FOUR ELEMENTS

Honest skincare shop/ 2019

The project for Katie FISHER

It is the spa with the retail space near the canal (Fazeley St, Birmingham B5 5RX).
The “FOUR ELEMENTS” concept was chosen due to the company policy and represents the symbolism of the natural world. The structure makes the space zoned without losing air and light circulation which will also show the aesthetics of this company, that is ‘less is more’ and build the confidential relationships between staff and customers.

The soft types of materials (like timber) will be used in the spa to provide the aroma in the area which cannot be achieved simply by the candle making process. The soft material will provide a possibility to apply the special oil for aroma saving. Also, lighting of different temperature ranges will be placed in the spa and retail areas to provide the unique feeling in each place. Katie Fisher will save her identity by staying in Birmingham (the city where all her production came from) using the local ingredients and the unique English style in the production. However, it was decided to add some elements of the Japanese style on the top of the building (spa area) to underline the meaningfulness and comfort of that place as well as a range of beauty treatment facilities.

It will be the first big spa in Birmingham
which will cover not only a regular treatment but a spa procedure on the boat as well. Furthermore, ‘Honest’ spa will have a retail space to provide new production to the customers.
